The total amount payable would be £189,357.67 made up of the loan amount plus interest (£68,161.67), booking fee (£999), completion fee (£30) and valuation fee (£197).

Choosing a TSB mortgage deal

TSB offers a range of different mortgage types, including:

Fixed rate mortgages – with this type of mortgage, the monthly interest rate is fixed for an agreed period of time, so you know how much your monthly mortgage payment will be.

Tracker mortgages – with this type of mortgage, the interest rate is linked to the Bank of England Base Rate for a set period.

Interest only mortgages – with this type of mortgage, your monthly mortgage repayments will only cover the interest and may therefore be a cheaper option in the short to medium term. However, you will need a plan in place to repay the capital in full at the end of the mortgage term.

Remortgages – move your existing mortgage to find a better rate and you could receive £500 cashback if you have a TSB current account and have £1,000 or more a month paid into it.

Buy to let mortgages – specialist mortgage deals which allow you to rent out a property to tenents.

First time buyer mortgages – TSB Lend a Hand mortgages allows first time buyers to secure a 95% mortgage provided that they have a guarantor who can put up savings as additional security for the mortgage

Before taking out a mortgage

A mortgage is a large financial commitment; it is therefore a good idea to shop around before taking one out to find the best deal that also fits your specific circumstances.

Different lenders have varying lending criteria, meaning that while a borrower may not be suitable for a mortgage with one lender they may still suit the criteria of other lenders.

Factors that can influence what mortgages are available to a borrower can include: Age, Annual Income, Credit History and Deposit Size.
